The SSI Open Water Diver certification is the most recognized beginner scuba course worldwide — and Nha Trang is one of Vietnam’s most established training destinations. With calm bays, accessible sites, and professional instruction, it’s the perfect place to begin your underwater journey.
In just a few days, you’ll learn all essential skills, build confidence, and become certified to dive independently to 18 meters, anywhere in the world, for life.

Course Overview
This beginner-friendly program includes:
- Online theory learning
- Confined-water (shallow water/pool) training
- Four open-water dives from the boat
No prior experience is needed — just basic swimming ability and the excitement to discover the underwater world.
Course Schedule (3 Days)
Day 1 – Theory & Confined-Water Training
- Review SSI online learning modules and theory topics
- Learn equipment setup, breathing techniques, and safety basics
- Confined-water session in shallow water or pool
- Practice essential beginner skills:
- Breathing and buoyancy control
- Mask clearing
- Regulator recovery
- Equalization and safe ascent procedures
- Basic emergency skills
Day 2 – Open Water Dives 1 & 2
- Morning hotel pick-up and quick theory review
- Boat trip to beginner-friendly training sites
- Dive 1 & 2: First ocean dives (max depth ~12 m)
- Practice neutral buoyancy, underwater communication, and essential skills
- Surface interval, lunch on board, and debrief with your instructor
- Early afternoon return to harbor
Day 3 – Open Water Dives 3 & 4
- Boat trip to new dive sites suitable for training
- Dive 3 & 4: Final training dives (up to 18 m)
- Build confidence, improve control, and review emergency procedures
- Complete final skill evaluation
Certification processing — you become an SSI Open Water Diver
