The SSI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba certification and the perfect way to start your diving journey in the warm, tropical waters of Phú Quốc. In just a few days, you’ll gain the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to dive safely to 18 meters — anywhere in the world, for life.

Course Overview

This beginner-friendly program combines online learning, confined-water training, and four ocean dives.
No experience is required — only basic swimming ability and enthusiasm for exploring the underwater world.

Course Schedule (3 Days)

Day 1 – Theory & Confined-Water Training

  • Review SSI online learning modules
  • Learn scuba equipment setup and safety basics
  • Confined-water session in shallow water or pool
  • Practice essential skills: breathing underwater, buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, safety procedures

Day 2 – Open Water Dives 1 & 2

  • Quick theory review and final knowledge check
  • Boat trip to beginner-friendly dive sites
  • Perform your first two open-water dives (max depth ~12 m)
  • Practice buoyancy, underwater communication, and basic skills
  • Return to harbor early afternoon

Day 3 – Open Water Dives 3 & 4

  • Boat trip to new dive sites
  • Two final training dives (up to 18 m)
  • Improve comfort, navigation basics, and emergency procedures
  • Final skill evaluation with your instructor

Certification processing — you become an SSI Open Water Diver
